Converting Audio Sample Rates
Before performing a digital cut, you have to convert all audio sample rates to the same
spec. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Select your sequence in its bin.
2. Select Bin > Change Sample Rate (see Figure 6.37). You could optionally right-
click/Ctrl-click the sequence and choose Change Sample Rate.
3. Choose the correct sample rate and the quality of audio that you want to create.
(For a final layoff, this should always be High.)
You can also choose to delete the original audio. If you do not choose this,
duplicate clips will be generated with the new sample rate.
Xpress Pro creates new media for clips in the sequence that do not have the
correct sample rate. Your conversion is complete.
Calibrating for Output
Before outputting, you’ll want to measure the output of the audio tone using the Audio
tool against input meters on your record deck. If the deck has adjustable levels for record
input, optimize your levels appropriately. Usually this means simply zeroing the level of
tone, but you should also test the levels going to the deck using the loudest portion of
your sequence to make sure no clipping occurs and to ensure that the tone is truly
representative of your program levels.

Caution! When working with 1:1 media, the Mojo will play only a single stream of video in real time
instead of multiple streams as is available with DV-25 media.Transitions such as a dissolve require two streams
of video. The Expert Render setting Prepare For Digital Cut incorrectly misses the rendering of transitions. You
must either render all or render the transitions manually.Effects Safe Mode in the Digital Cut tool will also not
detect transitions that must be rendered for a 1:1 sequence to play back correctly to tape.
